Bill 23-07

What Others Say...

"We salute CRG for being willing to speak out on behalf of the people of Montgomery County and our young people who will be affected by this propaganda. We urge our friends to assist CRG in gathering signatures for this referendum."

Perhaps the most damaging aspect of Bill 23-07 is the impact it may have on our children. The bill mandates educational programs to promote awareness and non-discrimination of transvestites. Already, our children are being taught at age 12 in Montgomery County Public Schools that their “Gender identity is your identification of yourself as a man or woman, based on the gender you feel to be inside”. Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum has a January 16th court date to challenge this curriculum so harmful to our children. Bill 23-07, mandating educational programs on transsexual behavior, strengthens Montgomery County Public Schools case that the new sex-ed program which teaches children that coming out as a transsexual at age 15 are appropriate. For Catholics, you should know that the MCPS sex-ed is so extreme that the Archdiocese of Washington distributed a circular calling the curriculum immoral. Make no mistake, PFLAG, GLSEN and similar organizations are out to erase gender through the guise of “non-discrimination”. They intend to change the attitudes and change the culture by getting to your kids. Toolkits targeted at children are distributed throughout the schools– Beyond the Binary. Beyond the Binary mutes the distinction between male and female:

Students who are gender non-conforming are those whose gender expression (or outward appearance) does not follow traditional gender roles: “feminine boys,” “masculine girls,” and students who are androgynous, for example. It can also include students who look the way boys and girls are expected to look but participate in activities that are gender nonconforming, like a boy who does ballet. The term “transgender youth” can be used as an umbrella term for all students whose gender identity is different from the sex they were assigned at birth and/or whose gender expression is non-stereotypical. Some transgender students transition or change from one gender to another. Transition often means changing the way you dress, selecting a new name, and sometimes getting help from a doctor to change your body.

Gay Straight Alliance Clubs, present in most of our local public schools, distribute Beyond the Binary to your children.

Gay Straight Alliance clubs also sponsor, with the support and cooperation of our public schools, the following activities:

"National Coming Out" Day where high school (and some middle school) students are encouraged to “come out” as GLBT over the school intercoms, October 11th.
"Day of Silence" where students are encouraged to "not speak" at our local schools in protest of GLBT discrimination. April 25th, 2008.
"Transgender Day of Remembrance" – this past Nov 20th. "Over 375 middle and high school students from over 286 schools across the country organized TDOR events to both commemorate trans people who have lost their lives due to gender-based violence and to celebrate trans lives and experiences." (emphasis ours)

San Francisco recently introduced genderless id cards, Iowa’s schools promoted cross-dressing day, California’s new SB 777 bill may outlaw gender separated sports teams. This is NOT limited to public schools. Don’t believe for one minute that your children will remain sheltered because they are in private schools. Laws similar to Bill 23-07 have been used to force the teaching of the acceptance of homosexuality even in Catholic schools in Canada.

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. We need everyone’s help to reach the 25,000 signature mark!

Church-goers, set up an appointment to go speak with your pastor, print out or pick up a “for my pastor” kit. Run a petition drive at your church!
